Brothers Home Improvement may have started doing business in 1994, but the foundation on which we operate was built decades earlier in Madrid, Spain, when Papi and Mama Cavanna were married. Creating a thriving family was everything to them. So, in 1967, they took a chance on the American dream– moving with their nine children to California. Their hope was to provide their children with the opportunity to succeed in all aspects of their life.
An exceptional business-man, Papi’s strengths in investing, financial advice, and accounting allowed him to prosper and provide for nine children and a wife at home. Leading by example, he taught the value of structure, logic, and a strong work ethic. As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Papi was known not only for developing the brains behind the business we run today, but also a knack for storytelling that left everyone he met with a lasting memory.
Mama raised her nine children with a steady but soft heart. In her children, she instilled the importance of compassion, love, and good ice-cream. Her household was one of high morale, where everyone learned to be good to one-another and how to have fun. This mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother continues to be the heart of the Cavanna family, and the driving force behind our company’s humanity.
While Mama and Papi laid the framework for the success of our company, we would be nothing without a team to see it through. So, when Gene and Ralph Cavanna founded Brothers Home Improvement in 1994, they assembled a team of family and close friends who have been instrumental to our success for over three decades now. Our team members come from diverse professional backgrounds, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, and are committed to upholding the highest standards of business ethics and customer service.
